Ward 3 E-Newsletter: June 2020

Greetings Ward 3 Resident,Summer is here. Unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic is still here too. Here in Ward 3 we have lost a resident to COVID-19. We have also had residents get COVID-19, including one resident who was hospitalized for over 40 days and even was on a ventilator. They have beaten COVID-19 and are home now. But their kidneys are compromised as a result of the virus and require dialysis. I share this with you all because we all want things to return back to normal.  But until there is a vaccine and further medical advances we all still need to be careful. So please continue to wear a face-covering or mask in public, use social distancing, wash your hands, sanitize commonly used surfaces at home, stay home if you are sick, and proper hygiene to help eliminate the spread of COVID-19 in our community! You can also read by Click Here why I feel it is important to do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Again I am so proud of how brave, patient, and caring you all have been to help our fellow neighbors and local businesses struggling as a result of COVID-19! I have some additional COVID-19 information that you should be aware of since my last update and whats going in your city government.

Have a great week!

Dan Langshaw
Ward 3 Councilman

Ward 3 Quick Update: April 15, 2020

Ward 3 Resident,

I hope everyone had a good Easter given the current Stay at Home Order still in place. As your City Councilman, I am doing all I can to help you and your families through this COVID-19 emergency. Hopefully you have received my ward-wide mailer with helpful information regarding COVID-19 last week. I have also stepped up my efforts to #MaskUpNRWard3 to help prevent further community spread of COVID-19. Yesterday, Governor Mike DeWine reported that state-wide there are 7,153 confirmed cases, 309 confirmed deaths, and 1,239 confirmed cases here in Cuyahoga County of COVID-19. Click Here to view full stats.

I am still getting complaints from residents about people in our community and even here in Ward 3 not following the Stay at Home Order by the State of Ohio and being large groups or not practicing social distancing. If you see a large group of folks not complying with the Stay at Home Order, please contact the North Royalton Police Department when it happens at 440-237-8686. They can politely remind them of the order and get them to disburse.

Please, Please, Please take COVID-19 seriously! Like everyone else I want things to go back to normal. ANYONE can get COVID-19 including beautiful Baby Eli and his father here in North Royalton! Thank you Eli’s parents Dawn and Sean for sharing their families story! Click Here to learn more. In speaking with them they wanted me to stress we ALL need to do out part to #FlattenTheCurve! Prayers for the Clancy Family and all those in our community battling COVID-19. #InThisTogetherNR #BeatCOVID19

Ward 3 E-Newsletter: April 2020

Ward 3 Resident,

We are living in unusual times and the next two weeks or more we may lose more Americans than 9/11. So as much as I like to give you my normal Monthly Ward 3 E-Newsletter I won’t be able too. I will give an abbreviated version with basic things going on in City Council, City Government, and Ward 3 while continuing to provide important COVID-19 information you need to know about. I am continuing to get complaints from residents about people in our community not following the Stay at Home Order by the State of Ohio and being large groups or not practicing social distancing. If you see a large group of folks not complying with the Stay at Home Order, please contact the North Royalton Police Department when it happens at 440-237-8686. They can politely remind them of the order and get them to disburse. I was a soldier in my younger years and I was prepared to sacrifice my life for my country if necessary in the defense of my country and for my fellow battle buddies. First Responders especially doctors and nurses don’t nor should they sacrifice their lives. Who is going to care for us if we lose them? That was my responsibility and my fellow brothers and sisters in the US Military. So please #StayHome, go out for only essential things (medication, groceries, and work at an essential business etc.) #MaskUpNRWard3, and if outside use #SocialDistancing including for your children. Hang in there and we can get through this but we all must work together to fight this war on COVID-19! Given this week is Holy Week (Easer in a few days too) and if you are religious please pray for all those on the front lines battling COVID-19 like Marissa my wife and the First Lady of Ward 3 who is trying to help save lives!

#StayHome & Still Have a Happy Easter!

Dan Langshaw
Ward 3 Councilman

PS: Due to the large volume of phone calls. I ask residents and business needing assistance, please email me at Ward3@northroyalton.org so it will be easier for me to prioritize who I need to help or direct to the appropriate resources.

#MaskUpNoRo Initiative

(Last Updated on May 29, 2021 10:30am)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended that Americans wear cloth face coverings (masks) in public to help slow the spread of COVID-19. This recommendation is being made based on studies that show a significant proportion of people with COVID-19 lack symptoms and can transmit the virus to others in close proximity, through speaking, coughing, sneezing or other means. Also the Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine also strongly recommend that Ohioans wear face coverings in public as well to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

So in late March of 2020, Dan Langshaw while serving on City Council launched his #MaskUpNRWard3 & #MaskUpNoRo Initiative to get as many homemade cloth face masks to residents and businesses who urgently need in both Ward 3 and North Royalton Community to eliminate the spread of COVID-19!

Because of the help of many amazing volunteers “Mask Angels”, generous donations of supplies, and more. Over 5,000 FREE homemade cloth masks have already been given out so far to the elderly, those with high risk conditions to COVID-19, #NRWard3Buddy Program residents, nurses, front line health care workers, nursing homes, residential care facilities for those with developmental disabilities, essential businesses, essential workers, first responders families, schools, and more throughout both Ward 3 and the entire North Royalton community! Wearing a mask on top of other measures like social distancing and proper personal hygiene will help get us hopefully closer to a return back to normal sooner!

If you need a mask or like to make a donation of supplies email former North Royalton Ward 3 Councilman Dan Langshaw at danlangshawfornrward3@yahoo.com or call 440-785-4240.
