WARD 3 MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER: June 2013

Greetings Ward 3 Resident,

Summer is officially here! For the last few months I have been going door to door throughout our ward to personally introduce myself. It has been great meeting so many ward 3 residents and to get their feedback. If I haven’t made it to your door yet, I look forward to meeting you soon as I plan to continue to walk the whole ward the next several months.

Something I have learned in my visits at resident’s doors is that folks like a chance to get to know their neighbors better. Too often many of us are so focused on our daily routines, rushing to take kids to an after school event, or are just glued to our computers; that we don’t take the time anymore to really interact with our fellow neighbors.

WARD 3 MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER: MAY 2013

Greetings Ward 3 Resident,

Besides all the fun barbecues and family gatherings that will go on this weekend for Memorial Day. It is important to reflect why we celebrate this holiday. As a U.S. Army Veteran, I just want to personally thank all those who have served or currently serving in the United States Military. Most importantly we remember those who have paid the ultimate price by giving up their lives for the freedoms we enjoy each and every day. So on this Memorial Day Weekend if you see a family member, friend, neighbor, or just a random person in the street who is a Veteran or in uniform, please thank them for their service.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Dan Langshaw

Ward 3 Quick Update

Greetings Ward 3 Resident,

You may have already heard that Cutter Oil Company has officially filed to mandatorily pool, or forcefully use 1.9. acres of city streets and two homeowners properties located in the “The Planets”, the subdivision of Mercury/Apollo/Saturn for Callas Well #8. At the April 16th City Council Utilities Committee Meeting, I voiced my opposition to Ordinance 13-54 based on feedback from residents in our Ward and in Ward 2 where this proposed well is located. I am most concerned about the public safety for our residents and the possible negative environmental impact wells like the one proposed by Cutter Oil will have on our city’s future. So thank you for your feedback on this important issue!

Many of you have expressed an interested to me that you would like a chance to voice your concerns about this matter on the public record. For those of you who are interested there is a public meeting scheduled, where you can do just that. Here is the information:

Oil & Gas Well Public Meeting
Tuesday May 14th @ 6:00pm at City Hall 13834 Ridge Rd.

If you still have not voted, it will only take a few minutes to cast your vote. The city is asking residents to continue to support North Royalton’s emergency medical service by renewing a 1.7 mill operating levy. Please support this renewal levy and help us keep the excellent EMS service that we have here in our city. To learn more about the renewal levy check out these links:

Good Evening:

Hope everyone had a great Easter with their family and friends. As many of you may be aware as of March 28th I have resigned from the North Royalton School Board in order to accept an appointment by the North Royalton City Council to serve out the balance of the late Don Willey’s term of office as the Ward 3 Councilman.
