Ward 3 Quick Update April 19, 2016

Ward 3 Resident,

Just two quick things to update you on.

NEORSD Storm Water Program Agreement & Workshop
City Council tonight approved the agreement with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) to include the entire city in their Storm Water Program making them responsible for maintaining about 21 miles of waterways that are here in our city. As a result of this agreement more storm water projects can be addressed throughout our city. 75% of funds collected from the program will go towards regional projects that can help our city and we can apply for. Most importantly 25% of those funds stay here in North Royalton and can be used to address smaller scale storm water projects. The goal of the program is to address flooding, erosion, and poor water quality across northeast Ohio. There are a number of ways for residents to get discounts off their bill for doing things like rain gardens, reducing impervious surfaces, vegetated filter strips, and more. Also residents who have a home owners association that maintains a detention or retention basin may qualify for additional discounts. Seniors and those with income based concerns there are additional programs that may be available to possibly help reduce costs too. Click Here to view some of these discounts available. I encourage all businesses and residents in Ward 3 to attend the public NEORSD Workshop April 25th at 7pm at City Hall 14600 State Rd., North Royalton, OH 44133 where you can learn more about the program and ways to get discounts to save money. If you have any questions feel free to contact me as well.

Ward 3 E-Newsletter: December 2015

Greetings Ward 3 Resident,

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with their family and friends! Wow, Christmas is just around the corner. As we approach the end of 2015, things remain relatively busy in City Government with much to update you on.

Thank You
Before I get into my update below. I just like to take a moment and thank you the residents for recently re-electing in the November 3rd General Election to serve another two-year term on City Council. Legendary professional boxer Muhammad Ali once said “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth”. This quote sums up pretty well why I enjoy what I do. It is one simple word, which is service. It is my honor to serve the over 5,500 residents that call North Royalton Ward 3 home and being their voice on City Council. On November 25th I was officially sworn in for my second elected term on City Council. I look forward to continuing to serve Ward 3!

Ward 3 Quick Update for November 23, 2015

Ward 3 Resident,

Just wanted to give you a quick update on some important items and upcoming events before the Thanksgiving Holiday.

North Royalton Ward 3 Sidewalk Survey
I have launched an online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NKGPCRQ for Ward 3 residents to give further input on the issue of sidewalks. Council has been debating this issue for over five years. All of the ward councilmen were urged to reach out to their residents in correlation with this issue after the November 4th City Council Streets Committee Meeting. City Council has been reviewing the recommendations from the year long North Royalton Alternative Transportation Study that was conducted by the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency. The study expands upon recommendations made from the 2014 City Master Plan that calls for the city to increase connectivity throughout parts of the city through various methods such as sidewalks, bike lanes, and etc. The study highlights some specific areas of the city to start focusing on for the future in regard to the installation of sidewalks.. The only areas in our ward that were recommend are as follows: State Rd. (Wallings Rd. to Castle Dr.) and York Rd. (York Alpha Dr, to W Wallings Rd.). Your feedback and participation are greatly appreciated. The sidewalk survey will run until January 4, 2016. Ward 3 residents who don’t have internet access can pick up a paper version of the survey at the City Council Office at 14600 State Rd. Click Here to complete the survey now.

Ward 3 Quick Update September 14, 2015

Ward 3 Resident,

I just wanted to give you a quick update.

Beware of a Possible Scam
I have been contacted by a number of residents who have recently received flyers from a solicitor at their door or mailbox for painting addresses at the curb of the street. They ask for cash or check. It could be a possible scam. Please make sure they are a registered with the city as a solicitor and have the necessary permits to do such work. If you have any concerns or see the individuals putting these flyers out in your neighborhood contact the North Royalton Police Department on the Non-Emergency Phone # at 440-237-8686. Also Click Here to read about a scam a few years ago similar to this that happened in Bath Township. If you do need a reliable address sign the North Royalton Fire Department does them for residents for their mailboxes. Click Here if you are interested purchasing one.

Have a great week!
