Greetings Residents,
As a former North Royalton School Board Member, Cuyahoga Valley Career Center Board Member, North Royalton City Councilman and United States Army Veteran, I truly love serving my country and community through public service.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit our community, our city was already in trouble with the dysfunctional city government leading it. Serving in the minority of City Council, I began to blow the whistle on these serious issues. I even successfully led a historic community effort against the mayor’s unilateral closure of our city jail and saved it. But the majority did not like that at all. They resorted to grimy politics, deleting public records, trying to get me kicked out of my church, violating my constitutional rights, led a mutiny against me to force me out as a duly elected official and the list goes on.
No doubt politics is a very dirty business, but when they targeted my 13 year old step son’s race and other family members for sport it became very personal. I have taken the time these last few months from it all so my family and I could heal and grow from this horrific experience. I have more desire than ever before to make sure the community has a voice. So many residents like you have contacted me, helped with the healing process, expressed your personal experiences of how you have been hurt by officials in our city government, and urged me to retake my seat on council.
I am ecstatic to announce that I will be re-running to earn back my Ward 3 City Council seat with your vote and support in the November 2021 General Election. I am confident that with an entirely new City Council and majority that we can make North Royalton a better city for all our families.
This is the first volume of my new and improved E-Newsletter to help keep you up to date on what is going on with our City Government, Community, and ways we can work together to advocate for the changes we need to help clean up City Hall.
Please feel free to contact me if I can be any service to you or your family. I look forward to earning your support so that I can successfully return back to City Council and work even harder for all of you.
Sincerely,
Dan Langshaw
Former Councilman &
2021 Candidate for North Royalton Ward 3 City Council

Current COVID-19 Data as of September 25th
There are 148,894 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Ohio and 4,734 confirmed and probable COVID-19 deaths. A total of 15,127 people have been hospitalized, including 3,243 admissions to intensive care units. In-depth data can be accessed by visiting coronavirus.ohio.gov. In the 44133 Zip Code which North Royalton is located in there are 350 reported cases by Cuyahoga County Board of Health. Click here to see the full report issued by the CCBH.
New Data Dashboards
Governor DeWine recently announced the state has launched the Schools Dashboard and the Children’s Dashboard to provide school districts and parents the best information to make decisions about their child’s education and social interactions. The Schools Dashboard will show new and cumulative COVID cases reported to schools by parents/guardians and staff. The data can be sorted by county or school district and includes students and staff. Schools are required to report cases to their assigned Local Health Department who then report to the Ohio Department of Health. The Children’s Dashboard, developed in consultation with the Ohio Children’s Hospital Association, includes information about cases and hospitalizations related to COVID-19 among children aged 0-17 in Ohio by selected demographics and county of residence. Both dashboards are available at coronavirus.ohio.gov.
Flu Shot Reminder
Although we are still battling the COVID-19 pandemic. Flu season is approaching. It is important for you to consider getting a flu shot this year to reduce the spread of the flu and its impact on our hospital systems. While it doesn’t protect you from COVID-19, it does provide another layer of protection to keep yourself, your family, friends and communities healthy. I actually just got mine recently at Discount Drug Mart and was in and out. Starting next week, October 7th the Cuyahoga County Board of Health will be hosting Drive Up Flu Clinics every Wednesday 9:00am-11:30am. No appointment necessary. Masks required. No insurance? No problem. CCBH has affordable options for clients lacking current medical coverage. Appointments are also available at CCBH Parma and Warrensville Hts. (South Pointe Hospital) locations by calling 216-201-2041 through June 2021. For questions call 216.201.2077, email ccbhnurse@ccbh.net, or visit https://www.ccbh.net/flu-shot-vaccine/ Those who are elderly and need help getting to their physician’s office can contact their local Area Agency on Aging at 866-243-5678 to access transportation resources and other services. Anyone without a primary healthcare provider can visit vaccinefinder.org to find nearby pharmacies and other healthcare locations offering the flu vaccine.

#MaskUpNoRo Initiative
In late March of 2020, while serving on City Council I launched my #MaskUpNoRo Initiative to get as many homemade cloth face masks to residents and businesses who urgently need in both Ward 3 and North Royalton Community to eliminate the spread of COVID-19!
Because of the help of many amazing volunteers “Mask Angels”, generous donations of supplies, and more. Over 3,000 FREE homemade cloth masks have already been given out so far to the elderly, those with high risk conditions to COVID-19, #NRWard3Buddy Program residents, nurses, front line health care workers, nursing homes, residential care facilities for those with developmental disabilities, essential businesses, essential workers, first responders families, kids, teachers and more throughout North Royalton! Wearing a mask on top of other measures like social distancing and proper personal hygiene will help get us hopefully closer to a return back to normal sooner!
If you need a mask or like to make a donation of supplies email me at danlangshawfornrward3@yahoo.com or call 440-785-4240.
Trick or Treat in North Royalton is Still ON
This year Trick or Treat will still occur here in North Royalton on Halloween October 31st from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
To protect the safety and health of all members of our community while celebrating Halloween, please use caution for Halloween and other fall festivities. While broad in nature to cover the situations experienced by most Ohioans, the Ohio Department of Health’s “Celebrating Halloween” guidance provides the following good advice:
For Parents/Guardians of Trick-or-Treaters
- If taking your children trick-or-treating, limit the number of houses you visit and ask your children to stay as far from treat-givers as possible. For small children, consider holding the bag for them.
- Wipe off candy wrappers with sanitizing wipes when you arrive home. (NOTE: Never wipe unpackaged food with wipes.)
- Allow children to eat only factory-wrapped treats. Avoid homemade treats made by strangers.
- If your child is at greater risk of complications from COVID-19, contact your doctor before allowing participation in Halloween activities.
For Community Members
- For trick-or-treating, reach out to neighbors to discuss ways to ensure 6-foot social distancing, how candy can most safely be distributed, and the need for face coverings.
- Refrain from having children select their own treats from a bowl/common container or set up a hand-sanitizing station. Consider placing treats on porch steps or a table in the driveway with a sign asking children to take only one. Or use other creative ways to distribute treats, such as using a candy “slide” made of PVC pipe, or hanging treats from a wall or fence.

Fine for Not Stopping for School Buses has been Increased
Earlier this year after working for several months with the North Royalton City School District, North Royalton Police Department, City of Broadview Heights, and other officials on addressing the issue of improving school bus safety for the children of our community. I was able to draft legislation and sponsor Ordinance 20-63 before City Council to increase the fine for not stopping for a school bus to a $1,000 fine. I am so proud that even with the pandemic we were able to pass this into law. Read More.
