City Update
Route 82 Widening Project Update
Work continues on widening of Route 82 between W. 130th Street and York Road. All traffic has been shifted to the north side of the road to allow construction of the underground utilities on the south side to occur. Work is occurring at the east end of the project between Spruce Run Drive and the City Service Center. Work will continue all winter to prepare for earthwork and pavement in the late Spring/early Summer 2019 for this section. Also beware of speed limit changes from 35mph to 25mph as well. The Cuyahoga County Public Works Department is responsible for construction of this project. Any questions should be directed to their field office in North Royalton at 440-628-9229. Read More.
Sprague Road Widening Project Update
The City recently received good news that the Sprague Road widening has received additional Issue One grant funding for phase two. This phase between West 130th and York Road was granted $6.3 million in Issue One funding through the District One Public Works Integrating Committee. Issue One funding is a state voter-approved bond levy, periodically renewed, that provides funding locally for road and infrastructure improvements. Phase two is planned to begin some time in 2021. Community Service Club Open House
Last year Council President Larry Antoskiewicz and I conducted a survey to help the city’s service clubs who are facing a decline in membership. Results indicated many residents are simply unfamiliar with the service clubs and what they do but would be willing to join if they knew more. Based off the survey results we want to help highlight these great community groups and boost membership we have organized the first-ever open house showcasing the various organizations all under one roof to offer residents more insight. The open house will be hosted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 2 at the North Royalton High School Cafeteria 1. Pizza and refreshments will be provided. Each club will have a table and representatives on hand featuring information on their club, what it does, and how to help. Read More.

Snow Parking Ban Reminder
Just a reminder about snow parking bans and where to find out if one is in effect. A snow parking ban pertains to all city streets is not cancelled until a North Royalton Police Department supervisor deems all roads safe and clear, which typically occurs after snow plow operations have been completed. Violators of the snow parking ban are subject to parking citations and/or impoundment of their vehicles. If you like to find out if a snow parking ban is in place you can check out the NRPD Facebook page. You can also see updates in the Facebook and Twitter feed portions of my website’s homepage at www.danlangshaw.com
Ward 3 Recycling Tip of the Month
What Do I Do With Shredded Paper? Shredded paper should not be placed in your curbside recycling. The pieces are too small to be sorted properly at the recycling facility and will end up in the trash. Instead, ensure they are recycled by placing them in paper bags and recycling at a Paper Retriever or River Valley drop off bin. Click Here to learn more.
Hosts Needed for Ward 3 Neighborhood Meet & Greets?
