COVID-19 Update
COVID-19 is on the rise again throughout our community, state, and world. The Delta Variant is currently the predominant strain of the COVID-19 virus in the United States. On July 27, 2021, CDC released updated guidance on the need for urgently increasing COVID-19 vaccination coverage and a recommendation for everyone in areas of substantial or high transmission to wear a mask in public indoor places, even if they are fully vaccinated. CDC issued this new guidance due to several concerning developments and newly emerging data signals. First is a reversal in the downward trajectory of cases. In the days leading up to our guidance update, CDC saw a rapid and alarming rise in the COVID case and hospitalization rates around the country. Click Here to learn more information.
On August 23rd, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for people age 16 and older. Click Here for more information.
Federal mask mandate, which was set to expire next month, will be extended through January 18, 2022. So that means you will have to wear a mask on airplanes, trains, and buses still. Read More.
Back to School Reminders
School has started this week for the North Royalton City School District. Here is a quick reminder about Ohio’s traffic laws since we haven’t seen the yellow buses in a few months. On a road with fewer than 4 lanes, all traffic approaching a stopped school bus must stop at least 10 feet from the front or rear of the bus. On a road with 4 lanes or more, only traffic traveling in the same direction as the bus must stop.

CLE Market
The City has partnered with Cle Market to bring an outdoor, artisan-style venue for our community once a month on the City Green. Established in 2020, the popular Cle Market pops up monthly around Northeast Ohio. The market showcases 30 vendors, including local businesses, selling high-quality foods, baked goods, art, textiles, flowers and more. Every market will have a local, non-profit partner, so be sure to keep an eye out for who that may be. The next one will be held on September 11th from 11:00am to 3:00pm. For businesses interested in participating in the market, an application is available on the Cle Market website under vendor application.
North Royalton Produce Market
The next North Royalton Produce Market will be September 14th from 2:00pm-3:00pm outside at the York Road Recreation Field Pavilion, 14631 York Road. The other outdoor season dates are September 14th and October 12th. The program is specifically geared toward serving the senior citizen population within our community; however, anyone who meets the income criteria, determined by the Federal Government Poverty guidelines, may receive fresh produce from the market. If you are in need of monthly food assistance, call Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church at 440-237-7958 ext. 130 or St Albert the Great Parish at 440-237-6760 for information on their food pantry requirements.
The next Community Shred Day will be September 18th from 9:00am to 12:00pm and well be located at Memorial Park 14600 State Road.Shredding is limited to 5 standard-size boxes or paper bags per vehicle. Avoid using plastic containers or plastic bags because having to return containers to vehicles slows the line. An ID is required to prove residency. Due to COVID, have your items in your trunk with the trunk open and ready to go while in line. Please do not bring newspapers, magazines, phone books or catalogs as these can be recycled weekly in your curbside cart. Stay close to the vehicle ahead of you while in line.
