Ward 3 Resident,

I have a few quick items to update you on below. Hope you all are having a great summer!

Street Striping
JD Striping and Services will not begin street striping throughout our city beginning towards the end of June. The striping will be done during the hours of 8:00pm and 6:00am to avoid issues with traffic. Drivers should use extreme caution and patience if they encounter a striping crew.

Columbia Gas Betterment Project (Albion to North Corporation Line)
Beginning this week, some of the restoration work will begin along the project corridor to repair driveway aprons and the roadway that was disturbed as part of this project. Columbia Gas is in the process of installing a 12″ diameter gas line along Ridge Road from north of Albion Toad to north of Tilby Road. This gas main will provide better pressures to portions south and west of this location for future and already expanded developments in the City. Portions of this gas main are being installed along the southbound lane of Ridge Road, while the remainder will be installed within private easements on the west side of Ridge Road that were acquired by Columbia Gas. While working in the roadway, there will be times of delays as traffic is stopped in one direction to allow traffic from the opposite direction to proceed. Please use caution while traveling through this and any construction zone. This project is anticipated to be completed in the Fall (October) 2019. Royalton Road Watermain Replacement (State Road to Prince Charles Drive)
Fabrizi Trucking & Paving will be performing the work this week on this project. Please use caution in this area as the watermain will be replaced along the north side of Royalton Road. The contractor intends to utilize a temporary traffic signal at both ends of the construction zone to safely move traffic through this area. It is anticipated that work will be completed by the end of August. Please direct any and all concerns to the Engineering Department at 440-582-3001.

State Road Watermain Replacement (Sprague Road to Castle Drive)
This project is underway, with the bypass waterline installed and active. Actual construction is scheduled to begin the week of June 24th with a project completion date of late September. Small construction zones will be in place and flaggers will be utilized to safely move traffic through this area.

Royalton Road Resurfacing (York Road to East Corporate Line)
Royalton Road will be resurfaced this week June 17th in 2 phases. Phase 1 is from York Road to just east of Ridge Road, and Phase 2 is from the end of Phase 1 to the east corporation line. The project is a mill and fill pavement replacement, with catch basin adjustments and curb replacements along the project limits. Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of October. Message boards will be active and warn motorists of the construction.

Royalton Road Widening (W. 130th Street to York Road)
Work continues to install the sidewalks and driveway aprons along the new southern portion of the widening between Spruce Run Drive and just east of Abbey Road. The apartment properties will have small closures to allow for the transition of driveway aprons to occur this week of June 17th.
Traffic is anticipated to be shifted to the new pavement the week of June 24th to allow for the removal of the old roadway and construction of the new roadway on the north side between Spruce Run Drive and just east of Abbey Road. It is anticipated that beginning July 1st, the intersection at Abbey Road will be closed for 30-40 days to allow for the reconstruction of this intersection. Message boards and detour routes will be posted. The City appreciates your continued patience with the construction on this major project. We are working with the County and the contractor to help keep a safe travel environment during the project. Abbey Rd Road Closure Starts July 1st
Abbey Road will be closed to ALL traffic from Royalton Road to just south of the last Royal Redeemer drives starting on July 1st, for 30-40 days. I will keep you updated.

Summer Soirée on Main Street
Royalton Gifts and Madelyn Rose kick off summer with their Summer Soirée on Main Street on
June 23rd from 12:00pm-6:00pm at the 6556 Royalton Rd at The Royal Plaza.
